Beautiful fall colors are a favorite of almost everyone. I love this time of the year. As we enjoy the beauty of the fall leaves and the cooler weather, let us not forget to thank God, the Creator of everything for His goodness and the beauty He has created. As the Spring and Summer greenery and other colors fade and die, remember, it is only preparation for another season of beauty of a different kind. Enjoy the greatest artist of all time--God.

PETRIFIED!

How could this happen?!!!! It is an author/editor's greatest fear. Well, mine anyway. A while back I posted a review on Smashwords on a phenomenal author's book (Debra Diaz) and just noticed yesterday I had a word misspelled! So what's the point? Point is, even when posting on blogs and websites we should always proofread and double check (maybe triple check?) for errors. We as authors and editors should be people of excellence. So should we not ever make mistakes? Well, that's ridiculous since we are mere human beings. But that error on my part was absolutely uncalled for. However, it doesn't change the fact that Debra Diaz is one of the best authors out there. Just remember to proof everything you write. If you find errors in this post send me an email and we will laugh together.

LAZY, HAZY, CRAZY DAYZ OF SUMMER!

It's summer. Have fun. Be safe and enjoy all the great things of the season. Sun, swim, sail, READ, spend time with your kids while they are out of school, stay home and relax, cook out and invite your friends over. Got it. The possibilities are endless. Speaking of which, with God, the possibilities really are endless because He works in impossibilities. He really does. Our trust in Him is one of, if not THE, most important asset we have. Faith is believing what you cannot see--just like Abraham believed what he could not see, and it happened anyway because he believed. Hebrews 11 is a great read. I am amazed every time I read the Bible. Any kind of story you like is in there. Romance, battles, drama, family drama, natural disasters, history, politics, challenges, solutions, futuristic events, how-to, social justice, friendship...well, you get the picture.

REMEMBER THE RAINBOW

God's Promise to All

 In light of all the terrible and destructive storms we've had lately, one could wonder, "Where is God? Doesn't He care about all the people who've suffered from these storms?" The answer is, yes, He does. By all means God is loving and kind and has plenty of compassion for those who lost homes and loved ones. Remember, in Genesis, He said He would never again destroy the earth by a flood. But that's not all there is to that. It is a covenant promise. When you see the rainbow remember the covenant and know that all is well and everything will be all right.

Gen 9:12-17  And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud, and I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

Success

Read an eBook Week at Smashwords.com was successful for many people and Smashwords as well. I sold some books and was elated about that, of course. But many others sold books too and I am excited for them as well. Success is an interesting word. True success doesn't come in selling a book, but in the message the words bring to someone else. If the reader gets the message or finds joy or self-discovery within the pages or learns something valuable, it is then the author has found success.

Post Valentines Day

I know it's over but happy Valentine's Day anyway. Hope you had a nice one and all your sweethearts gave you chocolate covered strawberries to celebrate with. Who doesn't love them!? Both the sweethearts and the strawberries. Saw a pict of some with nuts on them too. UMMM! And about the sweethearts-please one at a time. If you  have more than one, be careful not to get your fickle heart broken. To all my supporters, here's my heart and some flowers to share with you. These were all taken at Bellingrath Gardens in Theodore, AL. A beautiful place and I want to go back and, of course, take all of you with me. It is acres of beauty and interesting things to see with a nice gift and snack shop. As well as a boat ride which was interesting because the driver tells you interesting things about nature while you enjoy the cool ride.

Snow and Ice

The whole world is cold today. I am glad I am in the South, although it's 26 degrees here right now and supposed to be 0 degree wind chill factor today. Cook soup, chili, gumbo. Bundle up and stay warm and cozy. Build a file. And love it! God is good all the time.

Create Space

Working hard to get my book The Light in the Valley on Create Space where it can be ordered in print. Will be a POD (print on demand.) Miss Mary is excited about this option and I am anxious to get it done. More later.

Help

Regarding MSWord 2007: I have tried adding pg numbers to my book and cannot do it. It either adds a pg number to 1 pg or adds the same number to all pages. I have worked with Word for years and have never had this problem. If you stop by and have a solution, please post it or send an email to me at proofnedit at inbox dot com. It would be much appreciated. Frustrated out of my mind.

Icy and Cold

Brother Jesse, a seasoned speaker and evangelist always drew a large number of believers and non believers as well with his humor and theatrics, if you will, used to communicate the Gospel effectively. Having never met him before, I was unaware of it at the time, but sudden silence was a bit out of character for his meetings. Nevertheless, you could hear a pin drop as he sought me out of the crowd and said God had a message for me. God’s word was, You will go through a hard valley, but God will go with you and will use you, and you will be a witness for Him."
