September 11, 2012

Every American reminisced on this day of the tragedies so long ago now known simply as 911. Our hearts were broken as citizens of this great country. I read the verses in Isaiah 9:8-13 on Sept. 11, 2012. Verse 10 says, "The bricks are fallen, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycamores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars." A great prophet of our day, Dave Wilkerson, said we, as Americans, missed the message God wants us to see. We as a people mourned, built memorials, established memorials in our hearts. And that is good as a token of love and respect for all those whose lives were taken and for all those who gave their lives while rescuing others. They are truly heroes. My heart aches for the USA and for all those who are gone and their family members, friends and co workers left behind. I cannot keep the tears away when I think about or talk about that awful day. I cry for America and those who lost loved ones. I respect each one of these. But last night at church my pastor reiterated those verses to us, the congregation, and Brother Wilkerson's message about that day so long ago. Until then I didn't understand the full impact of those verses relating to the USA. The message we missed is simple, but profound. God wants His people to truly turn back to Him and be loyal and dedicated to Him with our whole hearts, not merely lip service saying we will serve Him, but with actions truly serving Him. The message pierced my heart in a way I cannot put into words. I pray that I will be loyal to God and obedient to all His ways. He is Lord and wants our leaders to be Godly men and women. People who are called Christians for a reason; that Christ truly lives in them and guides them by His Spirit. Our call is to pray that God will bring this to pass in the upcoming election. God wants us to build this great nation on His principles and the truth that Jesus is Lord. God wants Americans to rebuild our relationship with Him and let Him purify our hearts and live like it. "God, please help us!"
